Hotel reservations department
Reservations department roles:
Not every hotel has a reservations department. In some cases, the reservations department falls under revenue management or banquet sales. In many smaller hotels, the receptionist or front desk staff also handle reservations. In larger hotels, the reservations department may be part of the front office or reception, or it may be a separate department. Check out all reservation job vacancies.
Reservations Tasks
Working in the reservations department involves thinking proactively, voicing your opinions, quickly adapting, and taking independent action. You must also bring a strong sense of responsibility and be able to work under high time pressure. The Reservations Department is responsible for processing and booking individual and group reservations. Naturally, administrative tasks such as processing payments are also part of this role.
All reservations for hotel rooms are handled by the reservations department, and you will be involved in:
Answering reservation inquiries by phone and email
Maintaining the central departmental agenda
Processing and booking reservations
Administrative tasks such as processing payments
Communicating with hotel branches and tour operators
Preparing quotes and reservation requests
You need to work independently, adapt quickly, and perform well under pressure. Check out all vacancies for the reservations department.
