Duties of a housekeeping manager
When housekeeping prepares the room for the next guest, they change and tidy the beds, clean the room and bathroom, and provide fresh towels. Housekeeping is also responsible for keeping other areas of the hotel clean, such as hallways, staircases, elevators, lobbies, and dining rooms. Beyond cleaning, housekeeping staff also inspect the hotel’s facilities to ensure everything is in working order. This team includes roles such as maids, housekeeping staff, housekeepers, floor supervisors, household management, linen room attendant and cleaners. If something in a room or hallway is broken, it is the responsibility of housekeeping to report it. Minor issues can often be resolved immediately by housekeeping, while more complex repairs are handled by a dedicated maintenance team.

The housekeeping manager not only oversees daily tasks and ensures compliance with safety and hygiene regulations but also coordinates periodic deep cleaning tasks. This can include window cleaning, waxing wooden floors, and dusting radiators or air conditioning ducts.
