The Anthony Hotel | Lombok

An old place in a new guise. A few years ago, the monastery was converted into a hotel, and more recently, the hotel has come under new management. Here, you will find authenticity with a personal approach. We are a small company and aim to be a hub for local residents, the wider city of Utrecht, and tourists alike. We strongly believe in connecting international guests with the local environment.

Located at Kanaalstraat 197, you will find the only hotel in Lombok; featuring stained glass, old wooden beams, a beautiful courtyard, a restaurant, a bar, and a chapel over 100 years old for events. From morning until evening, our hotel sees a fascinating mix of people: hotel guests, local residents, creative freelancers, students, and businesspeople. Here, you can eat, sleep, work, meet, socialize, or just drop by and accidentally stay for a while.

The reception is the crossroads where everyone comes together. Do you enjoy working in an international environment, can you work process-oriented, have you experience in a similar leadership role at the reception, and see building a new team as a real challenge? Then you might be the assistant manager we are looking for.

Responsibilities:

·      Leading, guiding, and motivating the reception team

·      Monitoring administrative processes, daily reports, and tracking worked hours

·      Creating and ensuring work and quality procedures, as well as periodically conducting checks

·      Planning the weekly schedule for the reception in consultation with the manager

·      Processing sick leave, vacation days, and leave in our staff planner

·      Processing and managing all incoming reservations together with the team 

·      Handling complaints and finding appropriate solutions

·      Setting priorities and distributing tasks to ensure everything is completed on time

·      Conducting performance reviews and evaluations together with the manager

What we ask:

·      You live in Utrecht or the surrounding area

·      You have at least 2 years of work experience in a hotel, with at least 1 year in a leadership role at the reception

·      You possess a bachelor’s degree or equivalent work and thinking level

·      You are proficient in Dutch and English, both spoken and written (additional languages are a plus)

·      You are flexible and available to work weekends and nights

·      You are accurate, presentable, stress-resistant, and can work efficiently

·      You excel at maintaining oversight

·      You have a strong sense of responsibility and enjoy ensuring and improving the quality of our service and products

·      You demonstrate natural leadership and know how to lead and motivate people

·      Solid knowledge of the PMS system Mews is a plus

What we offer:

This is a position for 38 hours per week. Salary is in accordance with the hospitality collective labor agreement and based on your responsibilities and experience. As an employee of The Anthony, you are entitled to a free overnight stay in the hotel each year.
