THE ROLE

As Bar Supervisor, you are the operational leader of Founders Bar, the primary point of contact for your team, and the face of the bar for our guests. With a strong affinity for beverages, you work alongside the Food & Beverage Manager to oversee the offering, with a particular focus on cocktails and wines. As a leader, you manage a team of eight employees, ensuring that daily operations run smoothly and that our guests’ expectations are consistently exceeded. You establish the right frameworks to empower your team to perform at their best.

With your creative mindset, you are always focused on finding solutions and actively contribute to the ongoing quality development of Founders Bar. Your aim is to position Founders Bar as the ultimate destination for enthusiasts of premium beverages combined with an exceptional hospitality experience.


TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES

Operational Leadership

  • Overseeing the daily operations of the bar, including opening and closing procedures.

  • Coordinating and supervising the team, assigning tasks to ensure consistent day-to-day execution of service and quality standards.

  • Handling and resolving customer complaints.

Personnel Management

  • Recruiting, training, and managing 8 employees.

  • Creating work schedules and ensuring employees are aware of policies and procedures.

  • Managing employee performance and providing feedback.

  • Managing leave and effectively implementing policies on the plus/minus balance.

  • Approving proposals for training, promotions, or dismissals.

Inventory Management

  • Ensuring the availability of the right materials, equipment, and tools for efficient and effective operations.

  • Managing the beverage inventory, including placing orders.

  • Obtaining quotes and negotiating delivery terms and conditions with existing and new suppliers.

Quality Assurance

  • Ensuring an exceptional guest experience that consistently exceeds expectations.

  • Maintaining standards for drink preparation and presentation.

  • Evaluating and optimizing work processes and procedures.

  • Establishing long-term relationships with (regular) guests, suppliers, and all key stakeholders of the organization.

Menu Development

  • Actively contributing to the development and innovation of the menu.

  • Collaborating with the team to constantly work on a refreshing and innovative beverage offering.

  • Ensuring consistency and quality in beverage presentation.

  • Determining selling prices based on thorough cost calculations.

Marketing & Promotion

  • Developing and implementing marketing and promotion initiatives to make the bar appealing to guests.

  • Collaborating with the marketing team to promote events and special offers.

  • Implementing strategies to increase revenue.

  • Planning and coordinating larger parties and events in collaboration with the sales and reservations department.

The intimate seating arranged over four different rooms add to the conviviality of a drawing room. Founders Bar serves a wide range of classic cocktails, spirits, snacks, a dinner menu and a unique wine list that offers over 400 selections. Every Wednesday night there is live jazz.
