The hotel has 250 rooms and is located in the 'Hart van Zuid', a stone's throw from the Rotterdam Ahoy Convention Center and the Zuidplein. The restaurant and terrace with a view over the Zuiderpark will become the Italian hotspot of Rotterdam South with freshly prepared Neapolitan Sourdough Pizzas and Italian inspired cocktails. The restaurant offers 175 seats. The expected opening of the hotel is September 2023.

 

This is an executive function where you prepare dishes that are on the menu. With the cooking skills you have already developed, you will work under the guidance of more experienced chefs. Under the watchful eye of our Head Chef, they take care of planning and management. You prepare ingredients or prepare them so that the other chefs can get started. But you can also lay out plates nicely before they go to the guests. In addition, you ensure that the kitchen is neat and clean. Finally, receiving new stock is also part of your job.

 

Job description

Your duties and responsibilities include:

• Preparing the mise-en-place for both breakfast and lunch;

• Preparing the breakfast buffet and lunch dishes in accordance with the menu item sheets;

• Keeping the working environment clean and preventing cross-contamination;

• Making an inventory of the required products and having the order placed;

• Help put away delivered orders in accordance with FiFo;

• Identifying and reporting problems in the kitchen (maintenance, hygiene, etc);

• Working according to HACCP procedures;

• Making an inventory of the required products and having the order placed.

Job requirements

• You already have several years of experience as a breakfast and lunch chef;

• You have good knowledge of HACCP and Allergen legislation;

• You are proactive and stress-resistant;

• You preferably speak Dutch and English;

• You live in the vicinity of the hotel;

• You are flexible (Monday-Sunday).
