The Breakfast Floor Manager is responsible for overseeing the smooth operation of the breakfast service at Jansz Restaurant. This role ensures that all guests have an exceptional dining experience, maintains high standards of service, supervises staff, and ensures the restaurant environment is clean, organized, and welcoming. The Breakfast Floor Manager works closely with the kitchen, front-of-house team, and management to ensure that every aspect of breakfast service is efficient, high-quality, and in line with the restaurant's standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Guest Experience:

  • Greet and interact with guests to ensure a warm and welcoming environment.
  • Address any guest concerns or complaints quickly and effectively, ensuring satisfaction.
  • Ensure that service is timely, efficient, and exceeds guest expectations.
  • Monitor the breakfast service, ensuring quality standards for food, service, and cleanliness.

Staff Supervision:

  • Supervise and manage front-of-house staff during breakfast shifts, including servers, hosts, and bussers.
  • Provide guidance, coaching, and training to staff, ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures.
  • Ensure that staff is properly assigned to their duties and that tasks are completed efficiently.
  • Monitor staff performance and provide feedback for improvements as needed.

Operational Efficiency:

  • Oversee the setup, breakdown, and cleanliness of the breakfast service area, ensuring all equipment and stations are stocked and functioning properly.
  • Coordinate with kitchen staff to ensure food is prepared and served according to restaurant standards.
  • Ensure smooth communication between the kitchen, servers, and management to handle guest orders, requests, and any special needs.
  • Maintain an organized and efficient flow of operations to ensure a seamless breakfast service.

Inventory and Stock Management:

  • Monitor the inventory of breakfast items, ensuring adequate stock levels for the morning shift.
  • Communicate with the kitchen and management about inventory needs and order supplies as necessary.
  • Ensure that all food and beverage items are stored and handled in accordance with health and safety regulations.

Health and Safety Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and cleanliness standards in the restaurant.
  • Ensure that food safety protocols are adhered to during breakfast service, including proper handling of food, equipment, and utensils.
  • Maintain the highest level of hygiene and cleanliness in all guest-facing areas.

Financial Oversight:

  • Monitor and manage daily cash flow and register operations during breakfast shifts.
  • Assist in maintaining budgetary control over the department, ensuring cost-effective operations while maintaining quality service.

Team Collaboration:

  • Work closely with the management team to implement operational improvements and optimize the guest experience.
  • Participate in regular team meetings, providing insights and feedback on service trends, staffing needs, and guest feedback.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in a management or supervisory role in a restaurant environment, preferably in a breakfast service setting.
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of food safety and health regulations.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • A passion for hospitality and providing an exceptional guest experience.

Experience:

  • Previous experience in a restaurant management or supervisory role is preferred.
  • Prior experience in breakfast or brunch service is an asset.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced, high-energy environment.
