As an Accounting Supervisor, you are responsible for assisting the Director of Finance in carrying out their responsibilities. This includes managing accounts payable and general ledger administration, processing payments, and ensuring proper management reporting. You will also serve as a backup for payroll processing, accounts receivable, purchasing administration, income audit, and general cashier functions. Additionally, you will take on the tasks of the DTC (Departmental Training Coordinator).
Your day-to-day
People
Co-manage the Accounting and Purchasing departments.
Organize and coordinate tasks associated with the Departmental Training Coordinator role.
Maintain contacts with employees, department heads, colleagues from other locations, and headquarters.
Participate in internal meetings.
Financial
Create and improve available automated systems.
Familiar with the Administrative Policies and Procedures & the Chart of Accounts.
Handle balance sheets, P&L statements, trial balance, general ledger, cash flow, forecasted revenues, cost control, end-of-month reports, and accounting packages.
Co-responsible for accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll administration, and the general ledger.
Process and archive data daily, ensuring timely handling. Control the proper archiving of the entire general ledger, including VAT, payroll taxes, social security contributions, and salary data.
Ensure that all received invoices are first checked and then coded before entering them into the system.
Prepare payments for approval in the banking system.
Take a lead role in processing monthly journal entries (including bank).
Assist with general cashiering, petty cash, audit packs, and city ledger.
Help prepare various reports for authorities (e.g., tax authorities, UWV, and CBS) and ensure timely submission.
Provide and (if necessary) compile various financial reports at the request of the General Manager or Director of Finance & Business Support.
Formulate written explanations for reports, etc., in English.
Responsible business
Compliance with local laws and regulations (e.g., archiving).
Promote the proper adherence to guidelines, administrative procedures, etc., including C.S.A. (Control Self-Assessments).
Who are you?
Accounting degree / HBO / Hotel School
At least 3 years of experience in accounting, preferably in a hotel
You are fluent in Dutch and English
You are accurate
