Today your shift starts at 14:30. As Duty Manager of the Holiday Inn Express Amsterdam - Arena Towers, you are responsible for the operational course of events within the F&B department, housekeeping and maintenance. During your service you are actively improving the quality of work and you provide guidance whenever necessary.
Around 16:00 you see that a line is created at the reception. The manager is busy handling a complaint. You jump in and help the reception with check-ins. When it is a bit more quiet, you have a job interview with a potential new employee. After this you do another check round at the F&B department and when you see that it all looks great it is already time to go home.
Tasks and responsibilities:
- Determining the right staffing within the F&B department;
- Recruiting and selecting new employees, coaching and supervising the team;
- Ensure the correct introduction, conduct performance and performance and appraisal interviews;
- Track inventory management;
- Coordinate and monitor work within the three departments;
- Checking rooms and public spaces;
- Quality control / management of the hotel;
- Point of contact for guests, which also includes handling guest comments;
- Contributing to improving the formula, quality and return;
- Together with the Front Office Manager you are a member of the Management Team and you report to the General Manager.
Job requirements:
- MBO diploma / HBO working and thinking level, preferably Hotel school or other tourist education;
- Around 2 years of relevant work experience;
- Communicative skills in Dutch and English.
