Ibis Styles Rotterdam Ahoy is looking for a creative, proactive and enthusiastic Facility Manager to join the pre-opening team. In your role you report to the Hotel Manager of the hotel, and you are in close contact with the external housekeeping party and our own technical service. You ensure that the hotel is always in superb condition, and you take care of all purchases within the hotel (non-food). The hotel has 250 rooms and is in the 'Hart van Zuid', just steps away from Rotterdam Ahoy Convention Center and the Zuidplein. The restaurant and terrace overlooking the Zuiderpark will be the Italian hotspot of Rotterdam-Zuid with freshly prepared Neapolitan Sourdough Pizzas and Italian inspired cocktails. The expected opening of the hotel is September 2023.

In your role as Facility Manager of our hotel in Rotterdam you are an enthusiastic leader with an eye for detail. You have a hospitable 'hands-on mentality' with a sense of humour, personal service, and an eye for detail for both employees and guests. You are in the middle of the operation, you cooperate, guide, coach and motivate.

Job Description

Your duties and responsibilities include:

Composing the team and performing recruitment, selection and training of restaurant staff.
Setting operational standards and implementing them
Optimizing the operational performance of the TD and HSK department
Monitor and if necessary, adjust guest satisfaction.
Daily consultation with the external housekeeping party to improve and maintain high quality scores.
Coordinating the cooperation between the various disciplines
Delivering optimal service from guest arrival to departure.
Coaching and supervising employees
Oversee efficient staff scheduling.
Performance and evaluation interviews with staff.
Maintaining contacts with (potential) suppliers, customers and other third parties
Participating in management meetings
Identifying structural bottlenecks and suggesting areas for improvement.
Developing and implementing of (larger) projects within the hotel such as GreenKey, CRS policy etc.

Job requirements:

Management experience within facility management in a similar company
Technical insight into the technology within a hotel
Experience in managing an external party
Preferably living in the Rotterdam area or having an affinity with the city
At least bilingual (NL/ENG) and relationally and communicatively capable to communicate at all levels
You have a hands-on mentality, are a go-getter and motivator
You are strong and enterprising with perseverance.
You are result-driven, decisive, and vigorous.
