The ibis Styles Rotterdam Ahoy is looking for a hands-on Front Office Trainee to join our front office team. During your internship you will be supervised by one of our apprentices.
The hotel has 250 rooms and is located in the 'Hart van Zuid', just steps away from Rotterdam Ahoy Convention Center and the Zuidplein. The restaurant and terrace overlooking the Zuiderpark will be the Italian hotspot of Rotterdam-Zuid with freshly prepared Neapolitan Sourdough Pizzas and Italian inspired cocktails.
Together with the team you will do everything to ensure that the guest experience is optimal from arrival to departure. In everything you do you put the human point of view at the center. We would love to introduce you to our hotel and make it a learning period together.
Job Description
During your internship you will be able to expect the following tasks
- Providing check-in & check-out for hotel guests (cashless hotel);
- Answering emails, phones, requests and/or questions from hotel guests;
- When a complaint is reported, you will know how to properly address the guest and get the shift leader involved;
- Promote upselling such as early check-in/Late check-out/Room upgrades;
- Deliver optimal service from guest arrival to departure;
- You are the lynchpin in the web and communicate multiple times per shift with your Housekeeping, F&B, Technical, and management colleagues;
- Other administrative tasks specific to the reception desk.

Job requirements
- You are studying at MBO level 3 or 4 at an accredited college;
- You are an approachable person and spontaneous;
- Preferably living in the Rotterdam area or have affinity with the city;
- At least bilingual (NL/ENG) and relationally and communicatively able to communicate at different levels
- You enjoy working mornings and evenings. You understand better than anyone else that weekend work and holidays are among the possibilities.
