With Werkplaats (café & co-working spaces), Doka (sound bar), Canvas (restaurant on the 7th floor), Broedplaats VKG (85 work spaces for creative minds) and 177 hotel rooms, this former newspaper building is more than just a place for tourists to sleep. Do you have an eye for detail, able to work irregular hours and are order and tidiness your second nature? Then you fit perfectly in our housekeeping team. As a general cleaner you are an important face for Volkshotel. You ensure that all public areas, toilets and meeting rooms are spotlessly clean.

Living in or around Amsterdam?
Capable of speaking Dutch and/or English?

Someone who likes to keep things clean and orderly?
Willing to work a night shift if necessary?

What your workday looks like:

Care for a deep stretch before you start work? Sure, just join one of Volkshotel’s yoga classes for free. At the start of your shift you will receive a briefing from your supervisor. Then your shift begins. As general cleaner, you’re an important face for Volkshotel. You will take care of all the public spaces and hotel rooms. Making sure that our furniture and corridors will be clean and dust free. Next to this you report any technical defects and you make sure all the waste and debris is stored and disposed of in the correct way. You’ll be part of our Housekeeping team and report to the Housekeeping Supervisor. Need to relax after work? No problem, jump in our hot tubs on the 8th floor. Don’t want to go home yet? You don’t have to. As a Volkshotel employee you get a discount on everything (programming, rooms, food and drinks) in the hotel.

What else do we find important?

Undertake regular deep cleaning tasks.
You’re available on Mondays and Fridays (14:00 - 22:00).

What do we offer?

Salary based on Horeca CAO. As an employee of Volkshotel you can stay at the hotel one night per year for free.
