This is an operational role, where the Head Chef will actively participate in shifts and contribute to the day-to-day operations.

Key responsibilities of the Head Chef:

- Ensures the smooth running of the kitchen department, where all aspects of the guest dining experience throughout the entire hotel are delivered at the highest level

- Works proactively to improve guest satisfaction and comfort, providing a positive and timely response to inquiries and resolving issues

- Develops and implements plans to achieve kitchen and hotel targets

- Leads and manages the kitchen team, fostering a culture of growth, development, and performance within the department

- Prepares and is responsible for the department's budget, ensuring that costs and inventory are controlled, and productivity and performance levels are met

- Builds and maintains effective working relationships with all key stakeholders

- Reviews and analyzes the performance of the culinary offering, providing recommendations to drive financial performance

- Ensures adherence to all legislation, where due diligence requirements and best practices are planned, delivered, and documented for internal and external audits, with follow-up as needed.

Requirements for the Head Chef:

- Proven experience in a kitchen, with strong problem-solving skills

- Excellent leadership skills with a hands-on approach and a lead-by-example work style

- Commitment to delivering exceptional guest service with a passion for the hospitality industry

- Ability to find creative solutions and offer advice and recommendations

- Personal integrity, with the ability to work in an environment that demands excellence, time, and energy

- Experience with using IT systems across various platforms

- Strong communication skills
