Hotel Arena is looking for an enthusiastic Housekeeping Supervisor to join the team.

Who we are.

We are a monumental, intimate, four-star hotel in Amsterdam's most beautiful park, the Oosterpark.

Connected by a love of art, design, music, travel, photography and good food, Hotel Arena is where people find, inspire and enrich each other.

Our 1888 building, transformed over the years from Roman Catholic girls' orphanage, to sleep-in to now a four-star Hotel. The rich history, is combined with modern design in all 141 renovated hotel rooms, our café-restaurant, the five creative meeting and event Studios, the Salon and the Chapel. We are a wonderful place for event, exhibition, meeting, concert, or just an unusual night's sleep in one of our iconic rooms. All under one roof.

Your team

The team consists of a number of General Services staff led by our Housekeeping Supervisors and they in turn are under the direction of our Housekeeping Manager. We also work together with an external cleaning company that supports us in cleaning staff. Together, you are responsible for keeping the premises neat and clean. In this team, we work with different shifts. The morning shift (from 06:00 - 14:00), intermediate shift (09:00 - 17:00), evening shift (16:00 - 00:00) and a night shift may be scheduled during events. You will be assigned to all shifts, both weekdays and weekends.

Your job

As Housekeeping Supervisor, you coordinate the preparation of guest rooms, including making beds, cleaning and restocking. You perform simple technical tasks such as changing lamps, and maintain common areas by vacuuming, mopping and taking down furniture. You will also assist with room furnishing and internal moves, provide daily leadership to the team, carry out room checks, assist with recruitment and handle administrative tasks.

Your talents

Besides having an affinity with the hospitality industry, you are flexible, hospitable and have an eye for detail and beyond:
You are driven and hands-on.
Willing to roll up your sleeves.
Preferably living in Amsterdam and proficient in English.
At least 1 year of relevant work experience.
Flexibly available, both on weekdays and weekends.
MBO level 3 working and thinking level.
Good physical condition.
