Nestled in the iconic Park Plaza Victoria, Amsterdam, our Dutch-inspired brasserie offers a culinary journey that celebrates the richness of Dutch cuisine with contemporary influences. Our guests enjoy a welcoming ambiance and exceptional service that reflects the heart of Dutch hospitality. We're now seeking an experienced and personableMaître d' to join our team and elevate the dining experience.

Role Overview:

As the Maître d', you will be the face of our brasserie, leading the front-of-house team and ensuring every guest enjoys impeccable service from the moment they arrive. This role combines your passion for hospitality with your ability to manage and inspire a team. You'll be responsible for coordinating the dining room, ensuring smooth service, and maintaining an exceptional guest experience. The Maître d' works closely with the Restaurant Manager and the kitchen staff to ensure seamless operations and guest satisfaction.

As the Maitre d', you will lead a team of five team members. You will report to Assistant F&B and F&B Manager.

As a Maitre D' you will:

Greet and engage with guests, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere in line with the Dutch tradition of hospitality.
Oversee the flow of service on the restaurant floor, ensuring all guests receive timely and attentive service.
Lead and inspire the front-of-house team, setting the standard for excellent service and hospitality.
Coordinate with the kitchen and bar staff to ensure seamless service between departments.
Train, mentor, and support waitstaff, guiding them on best practices and ensuring a cohesive and positive team dynamic.
Collaborate with the Restaurant Manager to maintain high standards of presentation, cleanliness, and service quality.
Manage seating arrangements, reservations, and table rotations to optimize guest experience and dining room efficiency.
Be a key point of contact for handling guest queries, complaints, and special requests with grace and professionalism.
Actively monitor guest satisfaction, gather feedback, and make necessary improvements to the dining experience.

What you bring:

A strong understanding of hospitality, with a focus on delivering outstanding guest experiences.
A natural leader with the ability to motivate and develop a team to maintain high standards of service.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with guests and staff.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage reservations, seating arrangements, and floor coordination.
A passion for Dutch cuisine and modern dining trends is a plus.
Previous experience in a similar role as a Maître d', Floor Manager, or Head Waiter in a fine dining or brasserie environment.
Fluency in English is required, Dutch-speaking is preferred but not essential.
