Our hotel offers an award-winning rooftop bar & terrace, a Lobby Bar, a restaurant, our very own LOT61 Coffee Store, Amsterdam’s most extensive breakfast buffet, fifteen versatile meeting rooms, and 557 guest rooms.
 
Exciting news! Our hotel is currently undergoing extensive renovations. The pop-up restaurant Eastwood Beer & Grill, the Lobby Bar with our in-house library, and the Front Office are currently being renovated. These renovations are part of a larger project, with all Food & Beverage outlets being repositioned and rebranded in 2024. LuminAir, our Rooftop Bar, has already undergone an impressive rebranding and reopened in June 2023. Stay tuned for further developments, including the redesign of our entire ground floor!

Who are we looking for / What will you be doing? 
Join our fantastic Team as our new Pastry Chef. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone wishing to play an integral part in working in a newly rebranded hotel, helping to shape this hotel into a destination of choice for both business and leisure travelers.

This position includes the following main tasks:

  • Designing, developing and preparing new dishes for the various restaurants to create an excellent guest experience.

  • Presenting new dishes to management with good substantiation.

  • Managing and organizing the pastry team.

  • Identify staffing needs and help recruit and train staff

  • Monitoring food costs

  • Monitors the HACCP guidelines within the pastry and beyond if necessary.

  • Monitor all stock of products and dishes.

  • Prepares and plans all mis-en-place for all relevant menus and colleagues if necessary

  • Is proactive in resolving guest questions in a timely and efficient manner

  • Assists other departments where necessary and maintains good working relationships

  • Comply with hotel security, fire regulations and all health, safety and food safety legislation

To successfully fulfil this position we are looking for an organized, pro-active and involved Culinary enthusiast who can delight our guests with his culinary skills Therefore, we are looking for the following attitude and skills:

  • Demonstrable experience as a chef in a similar role

  • Organization and leadership qualities and experience

  • Experience with cooking in the field of diets and allergies

  • Diploma as a pastry chef or similar

  • Teacher's diploma is an advantage

  • Be environmentally aware

  • A positive, proactive attitude

  • You have good communication skills in English, both vocally and written. Any other languages would be an advantage.
