What will be your role?
As a Restaurant Supervisor at Taiko Cuisine, you will act as the right hand to the Taiko Manager and Assistant Manager, ensuring an exceptional dining experience for our guests. You will play a key role in leading and inspiring a team of Waiters. You will work alongside with our Sommelier and dedicated kitchen team. Together you will tell the culinary tale of Taiko, which is based on a culture of excellence, attention to detail, and personalised service. Your responsibilities will include:

• Training and motivating the team to maintain the highest standards of service;

• Contributing to the success of the restaurant through upselling and cost control;

• Ensuring consistent high-quality operations by managing and maintaining SOPs and checklists;

• Supervising opening and closing procedures, including both practical and financial aspects.

Taiko Cuisine, created by Schilo van Coevorden, takes guests on a culinary journey through Asia, every dish is created with the highest quality ingredients and meticulous attention to detail. Located in the former percussion room of the Conservatorium school, Taiko Cuisine has a rich history. In the past, as people walked along Paulus Potterstraat, they could hear students practicing their drum solos through the open windows. Today, the sounds of the drum still resonate within our walls, thanks to the percussionist who plays the Taiko drum during dinner every weekend.

Who are we looking for?
Our ideal Restaurant Supervisor is a strong communicator with excellent interpersonal skills and a hands-on approach. We are looking for someone passionate about training their team, ensuring the highest quality standards, and supporting with the seamless opening and closing of the restaurant. Furthermore, you are/have:

• 1-2 years of experience in a high-end restaurant or hotel in Amsterdam;

• Leadership experience as a supervisor or head waiter;

• Excellent verbal communication skills in English (Dutch is preferred);

• Knowledge of allergens and Asian cuisine;

• Knowledge of wine (Sake knowledge preferred);

• Strong storytelling abilities;

• Flexibility to work evenings and weekends.
