 An old place with a new look. A few years ago, the monastery was converted into a hotel, and more recently, the hotel has come under new management. We are a small but growing business aiming to be a place for the local community, the rest of the city of Utrecht, and tourists. We strongly believe in connecting international guests with the local surroundings. Located at Kanaalstraat 197, we are the only hotel in Lombok, featuring stained glass, old wooden beams, a courtyard, restaurant, bar, and a chapel that is over 100 years old, available for events.

 Rooms Division Manager (Full-time)

The Anthony is looking for an experienced Rooms Division Manager who will become an integral part of our small management team. This is a full-time position for someone with a strong and enthusiastic personality who sees it as a challenge to help build a new, young company; a company that holds quality in high regard, is independent, and yet remains accessible to everyone.

 As Rooms Division Manager, you will be the central figure between the reception, housekeeping, and maintenance departments. Your goal is to provide guests with a high-quality experience in a personalized manner. You will be responsible for the overall management of the reception, team training, and the coordination of related departments like housekeeping. You won't hesitate to check guests in and out yourself and will keep a keen eye on room quality and ensure that public areas are always in top condition.

 You will work closely with other departments such as Food & Beverage, Sales, Marketing, and Maintenance to ensure smooth hotel operations. We are a hotel in development, so you are open to change and actively contribute to it.

 Responsibilities:

• Guest satisfaction, quality, and service

• Leading the reception team

• Managing the external housekeeping team (rooms and public areas)

• Achieving objectives: labor productivity and review scores for housekeeping and hotel

• Purchasing (non-F&B, linen)

• Project management related to rooms

• Staff management for the reception department

• Quality control for rooms and service team

• Safety and emergency response coordination, emergency plan, first point of contact in case of incidents

 Other Standard Tasks:

• Checking administrative processes, daily submissions, and verifying worked hours

• Creating and ensuring work and quality procedures, as well as periodically checking compliance

• Managing all incoming reservations

• Handling complaints and review management

 What we ask:

• You live in or around Utrecht

• You have at least 3 years of experience at the reception, with at least 1 year in a leadership role. Experience in housekeeping is a plus.

• You work in a process-oriented manner

• You have at least a higher vocational education level (HBO); a degree from a hotel management school is a plus

• You are fluent in both Dutch and English, spoken and written (additional languages are a plus)

• You are accurate, presentable, stress-resistant, and efficient

• You are good at keeping an overview

• You have a strong sense of responsibility and enjoy maintaining and improving the quality of our services and products

• You demonstrate natural leadership and know how to guide and motivate people

• Knowledge of the PMS system Mews is a plus

 What we offer: This is a full-time position of 38 hours per week. The salary is in accordance with the horeca collective labor agreement and will be aligned with your responsibilities and experience. As an employee of The Anthony, you are entitled to a free overnight stay at the hotel every year.
