At Hotel Casa Amsterdam we are looking for a Shiftleader for our sunny roof terrace GAPP. Together with Britt, the supervisor of GAPP you are the face of the outlet and you are responsible for managing the team and making sure our guests have an unforgettable time on our roof terrace. At the beginning of autumn you will rejoin the Restaurant EAST team and in the meantime you will be responsible for both closing and preparing another GAPP season.

A day like...

Today is Wednesday, the beginning of your work week. You start with a nice cup of coffee and then start up the roof terrace, together with a colleague from the kitchen, who is busy with the Mise en Place for the lunch dishes and appetizers.

You are responsible for the day shift today, so when the roof terrace is up and running again, you are ready to welcome the first guests of the day. The weather is beautiful today, so it promises to be a busy day with lots of sunshine and lots of beers!

A new colleague is also starting today. You super enjoy explaining everything to her and make sure she feels right at home on her first day. By now time has flown by and the lunch rush at GAPP is about to begin. You divide the tasks among your team and make sure the afternoon runs smoothly.

Towards the end of the day, it gets a little chilly outside and some people leave for EAST, to be warm inside. That gives you space to check the calendar for the upcoming days for specials, any lunches or drinks and a planned event. After that you check if there are any orders to be done and your day is done! So; time for a closing drink with the team!

Your responsibilities...

Placing orders and monitoring inventory;
Pursuing targets such as guest satisfaction and monthly cleaning check;
Leading and supervising colleagues and interns;
Keeping an overview: You know how to make the day run very smoothly so that all guests walk out the door with a smile;
In addition to performing tasks on the floor, you will also work on light administrative tasks; for example, drafting menus and specials, improving outlet quality, and holding performance and assessment interviews.
During the winter season you will fulfill these duties in restaurant EAST, and in the meantime you will be responsible for both closing and preparing for another GAPP season.

You...

Preferably have a completed MBO/HBO education in hospitality;
Have at least 1 year of leadership experience in the hospitality industry;
Are super guest-oriented;
Are structured and good at organizing;
Are a team player who enjoys working with young and enthusiastic colleagues;
Have a good product knowledge about beer, wine and cocktails.

Your team...

As Shiftleader GAPP & EAST you will work in a cozy team consisting of the rooftop restaurant GAPP and restaurant EAST who all do their best to pamper all guests. You will work closely with Supervisor Britt and Restaurant Manager Janine. The rest of the team consists of several full-time and part-time colleagues. Eline, F&B Manager, has overall responsibility for all F&B outlets, the restaurant, the roof terrace and our 14 meeting rooms.
