We are looking for a new hands-on shiftleader for Werkplaats. Werkplaats - on the ground floor of Volkshotel - is a large cafe with terrace and a co-working space for self-employed people and freelancers. It is a meeting place where many different people come together. Werkplaats clearly has two faces, during the day it’s a place for coffee lovers and in the evening for (special) beers. • Representative, socially skilled, stress-resistant and guest-oriented?

• Willing to work late at night and on weekends?

This is what your day looks like:

Do you want to stretch before your shift? That’s possible. All employees can participate in the yoga classes of Volkshotel for free. Then you clock in and your shift starts. You work on the floor and manage the daily activities of the cafe. You are the point of contact for colleagues and guests. Amsterdammers, hotel guests and tenants of the Broedplaats come together in Werkplaats. You make the best coffee for them and draft perfect beers. The bar is your domain. Do you want to stay around after your shift is over? Fun! You can use the hot tubs and sauna on our roof for free. Not home yet? You don't have to, as an employee you get a discount on everything (programme, rooms, food and drinks) in the hotel.

You are responsible for, among other things:

• Day-to-day activities of Werkplaats

• Training, guiding, motivating and coaching employees

• Monitoring the quality of our service and products

• Thinking about general improvement points

• Optimum deployment of hours by allowing employees to stop/start earlier

• The decoration and cleanliness of all areas

• Compliance with occupational health, hygiene and safety regulations (HACCP)

What do we offer:

It concerns an appointment for 32 hours a week. Salary is in accordance with the horeca CAO and in accordance with your responsibilities.
