We are recruiting a unique personality for the position of:
Sous-Chef - Maes, cuisine du terroir | fulltime
What do we expect from you:
o You are the right hand of the Chef;
o You share responsibility for lunch and dinner in our Chateau restaurant Maes, as well as for bar food in our international hotel bar;
o You are co-responsible for organizing the kitchen and developing the menus with a focus on local and seasonal ingredients;
o You will be involved in the daily operations of cooking and brining your creativity to the dishes;
o You keep up with the latest culinary techniques and trends and implement them where possible;
o You check all mise en place / bar food / dishes for the restaurant and hotel bar;
o You are responsible for placing orders, as well as their control and processing in the Chef´s absence;
o You oversee hygiene, food safety, storage, cleaning and monitor the team on these issues, in consultation with the Chef;
o The restaurant is open 7 days a week; organization, structure and control are important values and you aware of this.
Who are we looking for:
o You are ambitious to work and grow in a 5-star hotel;
o You have succesfully completed a culinary education;
o You have knowledge of French/Mediterranean cuisine;
o You have knowledge of or an interest in cooking with local and seasonal products;
o You are capable of consistently exceeding our guests´ expectations and you strive for perfect service;
o You are able to take the lead and assume responsibility in the absence of the Chef;
o You are not only creative on the plate, but also in devising solutions;
o You are willing to further develop yourself, as well as motivate and guide colleagues;
o You have a flexible attitude and are comfortable performing under pressure;
o You possess social and communicative skills;
o You can work both independently and as part of a team.
