A Sous Chef with Hilton Hotels & Resorts is responsible for contributing to menu creation and managing and training the kitchen brigade to deliver an excellent Guest and Member experience while managing food cost controls.

A Sous Chef with Hilton Hotels & Resorts is responsible for preparing and presenting high quality dishes to deliver an excellent Guest and Member experience while assisting with food cost control.

What will I be doing?
As a Sous Chef, you are responsible for contributing to menu creation and assisting in managing and training the kitchen brigade to deliver an excellent Guest and Member experience. A Sous Chef would also be required to manage food cost controls. Specifically, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:
Prepare and present high quality dishes within company guidelines
Contribute to menu creation
Assist in Managing and training of the kitchen brigade effectively to ensure a well-organized and motivated team
Ensure consistency in quality of dishes at all times
Delegate tasks and responsibilities to other team members
Assist the Head Chef by managing customer relations when necessary, in the absence of the Executive Chef
Assist in Managing food cost controls to contribute to F&B revenue
Ensure departmental targets are achieved
Assist in holding annual (mid) year reviews
Ensure resources meet business needs through the effective management of working rotas
Support brand standards through the training and assessment of your team
Knowledge of activities in other departments and implications
Ensure compliance with food hygiene and Health and Safety standards
Be environmentally aware
Represent needs of the team
Assist other departments wherever necessary and maintain good working relationships

What are we looking for?
A Sous Chef serving Hilton Amsterdam Airport Schiphol is always working on behalf of our Guests and working with other Team Members. To successfully fill this role, you should maintain the attitude, behaviors, skills, and values that follow:
At least 3 years previous experience in 4-5 star hotel environment or high quality restaurant
Previous experience as a Chef de Partie or Junior Sous Chef
Relevant educational background such as culinary school
Able to think out of the box and be creative
Certificate of HACCP and allergen training
Eye for detail
Excellent communication skills in English
Strong supervisory skills and focused on the development of the team members
Positive working attitude and a natural motivator
Committed to delivering a high level of customer service
Excellent grooming standards
Excellent planning and organising skills
Strong administration skills
In the possession of a valid Dutch residence and working permit
It would be advantageous in this position for you to demonstrate the following capabilities and distinctions:
Able to communicate in Dutch
Certified trainer for student of culinary schools (leermeester)
