An old place with a new look. A few years ago, the monastery was converted into a hotel, and more recently, the hotel has come under new management. At our hotel, you will find authenticity with a highly personal approach. We aim to be a place for the locals from the neighborhood, the rest of the city of Utrecht, and tourists. We strongly believe in connecting international guests with the local environment. 

Located at Kanaalstraat 197, you will find the only hotel in Lombok; featuring stained glass, old wooden beams, a beautiful courtyard, a restaurant, a bar, and a chapel over 100 years old for events. From morning till evening, we host a fascinating mix of people, including hotel guests, local residents, creative freelancers, students, and business professionals. At our hotel, you can dine, sleep, work, meet, have a drink, or just drop by and end up staying longer than planned. 

Sous-chef (full-time)
Hotel The Anthony is looking for a sous-chef for the hotel's only kitchen. The restaurant has approximately 80 seats. You will clearly be the second-in-command in the kitchen. All food for the restaurant, café, and events department is prepared in this kitchen. The quality and presentation of the food, along with the atmosphere within the team, are our top priorities. You are naturally flexible and don't give up easily. You have an eye for detail when plating, but you also know how to manage food costs efficiently. 

 

What will you do
- Lead as the second-in-command of the restaurant kitchen, breakfast, and events department 
- Contribute to menu development 
- Scheduling and keeping track of working hours 
- Adhere to, monitor, and update HACCP regulations 
- Manage purchasing  

Who are we looking for

- You love cooking 
- You have at least 1 years of experience in a leadership role in a medium-sized kitchen 
- Preferably, you have experience working in hotel kitchens 
- You can work in an organized manner, are strong administratively, and maintain an overview 
- Preferably, you have a certified master chef diploma 
- You are flexible and hands-on 
- You will mainly be in the kitchen, but you can also manage tasks behind a computer
