Conscious Hotels has been in existence for over 10 years! In that time, we have grown from a small hotel to a group of stylish eco-design hotels in Amsterdam. We believe it is possible to provide a comfortable stay for our guests while minimizing our impact on the environment. Currently, we have four hotels with coffee bars and grab 'n go shops. Additionally, we have two fully vegetarian and organic restaurants - and we continue to expand! We want our guests to have an amazing time, which is why we always come up with fresh, creative ways to connect with them and inspire them with our sustainable concept. As an intern in the Technical Service department at Conscious Hotels, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the maintenance and repair of our hotels. You will work alongside our team of experienced technicians and learn all about the technical aspects of the hotel industry. You will have the chance to gain practical experience and develop your skills in a sustainable environment.

What will you do?

Not a day is the same in the Technical Service department. Here are some of the tasks you will be involved in:

Working with and supporting the department manager and technical service staff
Assisting with the maintenance and repair of the technical systems in our hotels
Performing preventive maintenance
Conducting technical rounds/inspections
Troubleshooting and resolving ad hoc issues and problems
Maintaining bicycles
Performing painting tasks
Conducting legionella checks
Working on projects to improve the sustainability of the hotels
Collaborating with other departments within the hotel to ensure our guests have a comfortable stay

Who are you?

You are a student pursuing a degree in technology.
You are eager to start working and possess a strong drive and entrepreneurial spirit.
You have an open and flexible attitude.
You can make the distinction between important and less important matters.
You are observant and detail-oriented, able to identify potential issues while walking through the hotels.
You can work well in a team, but also independently when required.
You understand that learning involves making mistakes and are not afraid to seek help or learn from failures.
