Welcome to Mr. Jordaan's house, a small boutique hotel nestled in the heart of the Jordaan with 34 rooms. But we're not just any boutique hotel. To start, Mr. Jordaan is a haven for travelers, and we go the extra mile to make people genuinely feel at home. Our interaction with guests goes beyond the usual check-in and check-out procedures. We provide our guests with a unique and unforgettable experience, showing them Amsterdam and the Jordaan through our eyes. Service and genuine interest play a crucial role in this. For instance, during breakfast, as our guests savor freshly baked croissants and share their plans for the day with us, we jump in with our personal favorite spots and attractions. These moments of personal connection continue throughout the day. At Mr. Jordaan, it's all about personal attention and exceeding expectations.

 

Your day…

As a supervisor you are not just the face of the hotel but also a true leader on shift. Your responsibilities include:

  • Run the day to day operations by being a proactive and involved leader to the whole operations team with support of the manager
  • Welcoming guests and exceeding any expectation that the guests might have regarding service and hospitality
  • Maximizing our room revenue by managing the daily room assigning and upgrading
  • Handling guest requests and potentially challenging situations or complaints
  • Administrative tasks such as reservations and payments
  • Ensure that the whole hotel operations run smoothly from the guest perspective with the focus on front office and guest service 
  • Checking and managing of the cleanliness status of rooms and public areas by working closely with our housekeeping department
  • Help with the onboarding and training of new team members

You are...

  • Hospitality & guest service minded 
  • At least 2 years of front office experience
  • Able to work independently as well as being a team leader
  • Have a high sense of responsibility
  • Confident and proactive
  • Experience in leading a cultural diverse team
  • A valid residence and working permit for the Netherlands is required
  • Fluent in English and Dutch is a plus
  • Willing to work different shifts, including weekends & holidays
  • Located in or around Amsterdam
