What will you do?

Financial Reporting and Analysis:

• Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Perform variance analysis on revenues, expenses, and budget comparisons.
• Generate and interpret financial reports for management, highlighting any discrepancies.

Budgeting and Forecasting:

• Work closely with department heads to develop accurate budgets and forecasts.
• Monitor financial performance against budgets, providing insights and recommendations.
• Assist in preparing rolling forecasts to support strategic planning.

Internal Controls and Compliance:

• Ensure compliance with hotel policies, financial regulations, and audit requirements.
• Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard the hotel’s assets.
• Support audit processes, both internal and external, by providing accurate documentation and responses.

Accounts Payable and Receivable Management:

• Oversee accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely processing and reconciliations.
• Assist in monitoring cash flow, receivables aging, and resolve any discrepancies.
• Coordinate with other departments to ensure timely and accurate billing.

Inventory and Cost Control:

• Assist in monitoring and managing costs related to inventory, supplies, and operations.
• Work with the purchasing department to optimize supplier relationships and control expenses.

System and Process Improvement:

• Identify opportunities for process enhancements to improve efficiency in financial operations.
• Support software implementation, upgrades, and training for finance-related systems.

Team Collaboration and Support:

• Provide financial insights and support to department heads and assist with ad hoc financial projects.
• Act as a point of contact for finance-related queries across departments.

Who are we looking for?

• Dutch citizen or valid work permit
• Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written. Fluent in English, Dutch is a plus.
• 2 – 3 years of experience within (hotel) finance & accounting required with at least one year in an Assistant Controller or similar supervisory role or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience.
• Must be able to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups to managers, clients, customers, and ownership
• Must be able to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
• Ability to meet deadlines and maintain accuracy of information
• Ability to “see the bigger picture”
