The Renaissance Amsterdam Hotel is looking for you as a Culinary Trainee available as per February 2025!

ONLY FOR STUDENTS WHO RECEIVE AN INTERNSHIP AGREEMENT FROM SCHOOL.

What are my responsibilities?

As a Culinary Trainee, you will assist our kitchen team with daily tasks, gaining hands-on experience in a dynamic environment. You will work across various outlets, including our new dining concepts. In this role, you will engage in mise en place, performing essential preparatory work such as washing, cutting, and cooking. You will assist in the preparation of dishes, ensuring that each item meets our high standards for quality and presentation. By monitoring ingredients and making adjustments as needed, you'll help maintain the flavor and appearance of our culinary offerings. Additionally, you will be involved in plating and garnishing dishes, learning the importance of aesthetics in food service. Your responsibilities will also include adhering to hygiene and safety protocols, maintaining a clean working environment, and collaborating with experienced chefs to refine your cooking techniques.

You have a passion for cooking.
You are able to communicate fluently in English and preferably Dutch.
You are flexible and can work various shifts.
You are available for 5 to 10 months.

A major investment has been made in the hotel which will result in completely renovated guest rooms and public areas, including a brand-new bar, restaurant and rooftop bar & terrace. The hotel will expand from 402 to 500 rooms and an additional conference center will be constructed. The Renaissance Amsterdam Hotel has a very high focus on sustainability and will aim to become an enhancement to the city of Amsterdam.
