Amsterdam’s first barstro

Our barstro, Prins & Aap, combines a cocktail bar with a Dutch-style bistro. The award-winning staff craft classic and innovative cocktails inspired by life’s biodiversity, celebrating local flavors and Dutch ingredients. There’s a Dutch flavor to the dishes we serve too, catering to all tastes.

We’re looking for a unique Restaurant & Bar Manager

·         Leading, empowering, recruiting, coaching and motivating the Food & Beverage team is music to your ears;

·         A smooth operator, working closely with Front Office, Housekeeping and other departments;

  • Develop and implement creative strategies for revenue enhancement and cost containment;

·         A problem solver, with great creativity and pro-activity.

 

What does the ROLE entail?

 

·         Act as the face of the restaurant, ensuring that customers have a memorable experience.

·         Ensuring that the Food and Beverage activities are aligned with the Hotel Strategy;

·         Monitoring all operations, especially during peak business periods, working through the respective (Assistant) Managers  and Team Leaders to make adjustments where necessary;

·         Personally and frequently verifying that guests are receiving the best possible service;

·         Recruiting and selecting of new colleagues for your team;

·         Maximizing the effectiveness of employees by developing each of their skills and abilities through the appropriate training, coaching, and/or mentoring;

·         Encouraging employees to be creative and innovative, challenging and recognizing them for their contribution to the success of the operation.

·         Develop and execute marketing strategies to increase the restaurant’s visibility and attract new guests;

·         Leverage personal and professional connections to drive patronage, including hosting events, coordinating with local businesses, and partnering with influencers;

·         Establish the restaurant as a community hub by engaging with local organizations, hosting community events, and supporting local causes.

·         Develop and execute marketing strategies to increase the restaurant’s visibility and attract new customers.

·         Leverage personal and professional connections to drive patronage, including hosting events, coordinating with local businesses, and partnering with influencers.

·         Act as the face of the restaurant, ensuring that customers have a memorable experience.

·         Establish the restaurant as a community hub by engaging with local organizations, hosting community events, and supporting local causes.

Your experience:

 

·         Minimum 2 years as Restaurant Manager, having extensive hotel experience and a thorough understanding of all levels of the kitchen, the restaurant and the bar;

·         You don't shy away from rolling up your sleeves and diving into your responsibilities.

·         Ready for a full time management role that requires flexibility in your schedule;

·         Your language skills are top-notch in English and preferably Dutch too.

·         You're legally allowed to work in the Netherlands, holding an EU/EEA passport or a valid work permit (sorry, we don't do Visa/permit handholding).
