Restaurant Manager VanOost – Pillows Maurits at the Park

As Manager of VanOost Restaurant, you are responsible for providing the ultimate guest experience front and back of house. You find it important to train and coach your team to reach and achieve personal and company targets. Together, you ensure that every guest has an everlasting experience at the hotel and beyond. You are the ultimate host and lead by example, constantly optimising and guaranteeing the highest quality of service is met whilst achieving the most revenue through (up) sales. Alongside your team, you serve guests and strive to exceed their expectations on the floor.

In this role, you will report directly to the Food & Beverage Manager, ensuring close alignment with the hotel’s overall vision and goals. You will have the unique opportunity to collaborate with top professionals from the food and beverage industry, including Jannis Brevet, former 3 Michelin-star chef, who provides advice to further enhance our culinary offerings. We have high ambitions for all our F&B outlets, including VanOost Restaurant, with that in mind you continuously striving to elevate the experience and set new standards of excellence whilst maintaining cost and reaching financial goals.

As Restaurant Manager, you act as the link between the team and all disciplines to ensure guests have an unforgettable time. Through good preparation, strong communication, and teamwork, you lead the effort to make every event unique, special and financial profitable.

Further:

·        Team Leadership: Manage and inspire the operational team, creating a motivating and professional working environment. You ensure seamless collaboration and optimal performance from all colleagues in the restaurant and hotel.

·        Quality assurance: overseeing the adherence to highest standards in food safety, quality, presentation and hygiene. You implement improvements where necessary to optimise the guest experience. External Food Safety audit with avg score 8 on Sensz.

·        Operational management: Planning, organising and controlling daily F&B operations, including menu development together with our chef, purchasing, stock management and cost control. You ensure that everything runs smoothly, from preparation to final service. You listen to both the needs of our guests and our staff. You are on the floor and anticipate on the business and its needs.

·        Budget and Revenue Management: Manage the restaurant’s budget and implement strategies to maximize efficiency and revenue. You’re always on the lookout for opportunities to grow financial performance.

·        Training and Development: Coach your team on the job and identify opportunities for growth, leveraging internal programs like the Pillows Academy to develop your colleagues’ talents further.

·        Guest Experience: Guarantee exceptional service and create unique guest experiences. You actively engage with guests, understanding and exceeding their expectations.

 

Pillows Grand Boutique Hotel Maurits at the Park

Pillows Grand Boutique Hotel Maurits at the Park opened in November 2022 and is a 5-star luxury hotel. The hotel is located in the green Oosterpark in Amsterdam Oost. Within a year and half of opening, the hotel has already won several prestigious awards. It achieved the No. 1 ranking on TripAdvisor, outperforming over 400 other hotels in Amsterdam.

 Furthermore, Fitz's Bar was named Best New Cocktail Bar at the Entree Awards 2023 for its luxurious and meticulously designed cocktail menu. The bar’s team is praised for their originality and the sophistication of their creations. In addition, Nick Vrielink, Bar manager, won Gold at the World Cocktail Championship 2023 in Rome, showcasing his talent with his signature cocktail ‘Essence No. 5’ and currently holds 3 x national champion.

VanOost Restaurant, the fine dining restaurant in the hotel, has also quickly established itself as a top culinary destination. Helmed by Chef Floris van Straalen, the restaurant offers an innovative, globally inspired menu.
