What are my responsibilities?

As a Revenue Trainee you will play an integral role in supporting the revenue initiatives at the Renaissance Amsterdam Hotel. You will work closely with our Commercial Director and Revenue Manager. The Revenue department’s mission is to optimize rooms and function space revenue by analyzing data, forecasting market demand and implementing dynamic pricing across all segments and all distribution channels. As a Revenue Trainee, your responsibilities are including but not limited to:

• Managing room inventory to maximize cluster room and catering revenues.

• Maintaining accurate reservation system information.

• Preparing the supporting documents for weekly sales strategy meetings.

• Updating and analyzing segmentation performance, daily/weekly pickup and group pace documents.

• Supporting the team with ad-hoc analysis depending on on-going projects.

• Sharing findings in morning and departmental meetings.

What would a typical day look like?

In the morning, after getting a cup of coffee (tea is also allowed), you will create the pick-up report for the hotel and inform your manager about any highlights or abnormalities. Then, it’s time to attend the morning meeting in your team. After that, you will spend some time working on an ad-hoc project for the hotel to try and find out if there is any change in the production of a market segment on specific days of the week. After going for a (free) lunch in the canteen, you are going to load a new promotion for the Renaissance to drive more revenue. The rest of your afternoon will be spent on updating, analyzing several tools and sharing your findings and advice with the team, which will be used for our weekly revenue strategy meetings. Once this is done, it is time to go and explore our amazing city and relax!

What makes you the perfect fit?

You communicate fluently in English and preferably Dutch.
You are proactive, can work independently and are creative with a high attention to detail.
You have strong administrative and organizational skills.
You are available for 5 to 10 months.

A major investment has been made in the hotel which will result in completely renovated guest rooms and public areas, including a brand-new bar, restaurant and rooftop bar & terrace. The hotel will expand from 402 to 500 rooms and an additional conference center will be constructed. The Renaissance Amsterdam Hotel has a very high focus on sustainability and will aim to become an enhancement to the city of Amsterdam.
