The Sales Manager Diplomatic segment is responsible for driving new business leads to Botanica, Ultramarijn, rooms and the Meetings and Events spaces and maintaining client relationships. You have the unique opportunity to work with the Commercial Leader on implementing and optimizing the commercial strategy for your market segment. You will be responsible for the account's development of local, foreign government and embassies business, group delegations and individual travellers. This market will assist in maximizing room revenue, occupancy and average rate along with ancillary F&B revenues.

  • Driving results and consistently delivering & inspiring others by example.  
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for voco The Hague to all foreign embassies, consulates, and government and international institutions at all revenue points including transient rooms, group rooms, and meetings and events. 
  • Exceed assigned revenue targets in assigned markets. 
  • Research, identify, target and solidify relationships with new and existing Embassy, foreign government, and VIP travel agent accounts. 
  • Conduct weekly sales calls to Embassy contacts to uncover new business. 
  • Travel internationally, when required, to present the Hotel to foreign nation-based accounts and/or to attend trade shows and sales missions. 
  • Submit monthly sales highlights, industry intelligence and account production to the commercial leader. 
  • Prepare strategic plans as part of the Hotel’s ongoing Marketing Plans to achieve a high level of Diplomatic segment penetration to increase RevPAR growth for the Hotel. 
  • Coordinate with the Hotel’s operational departments the details and needs of Diplomatic groups and VIP guests. This may include coordination with external security services. Serve as the Diplomatic accounts’ Event Manager in collecting rooming lists, payments, arrival/departure details, guest preferences, dining arrangements, along with being present for group/VIP arrivals and departures. 
  • Keep all information regarding Diplomatic guests at the highest levels of confidentiality 
  • Ability to maintain flexible hours including nights and weekends and be accessible to accounts that are working outside of the Eastern time zone. 
  • Special projects as assigned by the commercial leader supporting the overall commercial strategy

Did you bring everything? 

  • Experience within a lifestyle hotel brand sales and marketing setting with experience in sales.  
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of International Government Markets with experience in the above market segments 
  • Strong project management skills. 
  • Have strong multitasking & time management skills.  
  • Be a social butterfly and natural networker - actively engage with the local community, partners & clients  
  • Strong knowledge of local businesses and business trends as well as economic factors.  
  • The ability to effectively listen, communicate, and perform diplomacy with internal and external customers and colleagues in all situations.  
  • Strong media and presentation skills.  
  • Must speak Dutch and English – knowledge of other languages preferred.

  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite
