As a Senior Financial Administrator, your role will be instrumental in financial accounting and control on revenue cycle. Your focus will be on key efficiency and effectiveness projects within Reserve to Cash cycle along with playing a crucial role in ensuring a seamless income audit process and supervising the team.
As a member of the PPHE Finance leadership team across the Netherlands, Italy, and the UK, your ability to adapt to a rapidly evolving environment will be integral to maintaining efficiency and accuracy.
About the role:
In your role as Senior Financial Administrator, you will discuss and agree on some key objectives with your Line Manager. These objectives will support achieving the overall department’s goals and corporate priorities. You will also take responsibility for your development and utilise all learning and development opportunities whilst being expected to deal constructively with any challenges and mistakes and learn from these experiences.
You will primarily work from Park Plaza Victoria Amsterdam, and travel regularly to PPHE hotels within the Netherlands. Availability to travel to the UK, Italy and across Europe depending on business needs.
As Senior Financial Administrator your main tasks and responsibilities include, however are not limited to, the following:
Financial Control:
- Ensures full compliance with corporate policies and procedures and adheres to recognised international and local accounting standards
- Perform and supervise hotel internal audit checks including income audit and cashiering
- Ensure that all cash is banked accurately by the hotels, reconciled with appropriate paperwork, in line with SOPs
- Undertakes all other elements of cashiering duties that may arise including change orders, managing/reviewing hotel and petty cash, and completion of cash machine users’ audit
- Supports in the external or internal audit process with regards to test of controls and the preparation of documents
- Reviews the tourist tax reconciliations of the hotels
Reporting and Analysis:
- Production and coordination of daily, weekly, and monthly management & financial reporting
- Create valuable insights by analysing big and complex datasets
- General ledger journal preparations included (but not limited to): correction journals, petty cash, revenue transfer journals
- Preparation of nominated Balance Sheet Reconciliations for NL/UK/Italy entities
- Liaison and support to other centralised transactional teams, Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR), to ensure accurate, efficient, and effective processes.
- Informs and updates the Cluster Income Audit Manager / Business Controller directly on problems and abnormalities
Ongoing improvement & Optimisation:
- As a creator, you will constantly focus on improvement and provide valuable insight, by challenging the way things are done and making proposals to do them even better.
- Prepare (ad-hoc) reports to analyse figures and suggest improvements
- Stays abreast of current and new industry technology relating to function
Leadership & People Development:
- Overseeing and managing income auditors
- Creates & maintains positive and productive working relationship by setting high standards and clear performance expectations
- Supports other departments when requested on day-to-day basis by providing accounting knowledge based on education and experience
