The majority of available positions are in Amsterdam and The Hague.
Hotel concierge
The role of a hotel concierge overlaps with several other roles. Other titles for a concierge include doorman, porter, night porter, night receptionist, and host. A hotel concierge works closely with receptionists and front office staff. Many hotels also expect you to take over some receptionist and front office duties during busy times, such as answering phones and processing reservations. The responsibilities of a hotel concierge are quite diverse.
What does a hotel concierge do?
As a concierge, you welcome guests and answer all their questions, providing them with a wide range of information. You are responsible for managing the lobby, bar, and surrounding lounges. Selling tickets for tourist attractions and booking taxis are also part of your duties. You maintain close contact with guests, assist them with their luggage, and oversee stored luggage or hand over this responsibility to a bellman. Additionally, you are responsible for providing information about local hotspots, handling complaints, and working closely with the front office.
Other responsibilities that may be listed in a hotel concierge job vacancy include parking and retrieving guests' cars, receiving and transporting luggage to the lobby or rooms, providing information about the hotel's facilities, explaining room features, escorting guests to their rooms, assisting reception staff when needed (such as answering phones and processing reservations), informing, advising, and explaining the bar and menu to guests, handling complaints and passing them on to colleagues if needed, and responding to emergencies by taking necessary measures such as alerting guests and colleagues.
